SIIM 2007 Live Workflow Demonstration Session to Understand Practical Issues of TRIP

Educational Program

Friday, June 8
1:15 pm – 2:45 pm

Westin Providence Hotel
Narragansett Ballroom

Workflow Demonstration Preview (pdf)
This event will illustrate the complexities of information overload on the interpretation process for imaging professionals. The session address the new workflow issues that have risen due to rapid adaptation of advance and new imaging techniques, such as multi-detector CT, PET/CT and Cardiac CT/MR imaging. Multiple case scenarios will be shown to point out how experts deal with the issues of large datasets, multi-modality, and advanced image processing workflows. The audience will have a chance to see live how the experts use their favorite applications to navigate through the mesh of complex cases. The session is designed to highlight the disruptive workflows that current radiologists and other clinicians face, mainly as a result of advances in technology, such as MDCT, molecular imaging, cross-sectional cardiac imaging, etc.

The session will highlight three workflow scenarios. Cases used in this session are being made available to the vendors on the SIIM exhibit floor so that the meeting attendees can experience workflow issues firsthand and the vendors can highlight products designed to address these issues.

In addition to cases from the session, three other cases are being made available. These cases cover issues related to multimodality interpretation, large dataset interpretation, and interruptions during interpretation. Scripts for these can be downloaded by clicking here. In addition to the script, a vendor evaluation spreadsheet is also available to help easily compare workflows with different products. You can download the evaluation form by clicking here.
